Today's Action Photo is a picture of a stone face architectural flourish on a building at the Civic Center in San Francisco, California! As I was taking this picture, a security guard came charging out of this building demanding that I give my camera to him. I was like, "No.", so then he wanted me to produce a permit showing I was "allowed" to photograph buildings. I told him I didn't have a permit and I didn't need one. He re-iterated that I needed a permit, I suggested that he get lost and walked away, leaving him sputtering into his walkie-talkie for additional support. I fail to see how harassing photographers could ever increase national security in any meaningful way, especially since if I was a terrorist scouting this location, I could easily surreptitiously photograph every angle of this building without Mr. Rent-a-cop ever knowing I was doing anything. Score one for Osama.
