The MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas has a giant golden lion by the entrance that is a landmark of the southern side of the Strip! I'm told the entrance used to be designed like a lion's mouth, but that was considered bad luck for Chinese gamblers, so they got rid of that and put this big golden lion next to the entrance instead.
